This is a DC rectifier to power my solar panel motors and eliminate my battery.

It can automatically sense the solar panel supply and sense night time and shut itself off in both cases, saving 61kwh or more per year, for just one wall adapter. It is made of junk parts I had in my parts collection. It was using 7 watts, while plugged in and not in use, and 18 watts when turning both motors for 2 seconds every 30 seconds. The solar panel no longer needs a short lived battery for a backup system, and yet the small solar panel, which is powering the motors, is still useful. (See my suntracker project http://www.opencircuits.com/Sun_Tracker_or_Irrigation_Timer_to_drive_motors where I eliminated this wall-adapter and tapped power off the solar panels and added a nearly dead car battery for parking at dusk/storms).
